We Have The Cutest Rotation
Well, see, here's the thing. The Proxy & I bought a house and pretty much all free time has been devoted to paint and sandpaper and household goods shopping. Not that much has been going on with the Cardinals. I mean when Braden Looper is supposedly the fifth starter there's not a lot of movement on the personnel front. I guess there is, but it's all out, rather than in. Like Marquis.
Oh, that makes me laugh. Marquis is a Cub. The guy worked with Leo Mazzone and Dave Duncan and couldn't get it together. They think Larry Rothschild is going to fix him? Oh, I can't wait to see him pitch against the Cardinals.
By the way, it looks like the rotation may be Carpenter, Reyes, Wells, Wainwright, Mulder - in no particular. So that's not too terrible. I mean, it's five starters at least.

Cards Remain Hot Through 2011
Arugh, five-year deals for pitchers. Don't like 'em. But if that's what it takes to keep Carp around, I guess that is what it takes. I'm not thrilled about the years (the money is fine). Every pitcher is one windup away from a blown elbow. In the P-D story, Strauss mentions there are some offers out there:
Meanwhile, general manager Walt Jocketty, who is at baseball’s winter meetings, said the team had made offers to free-agent pitchers Jason Schmidt, Vicente Padilla and Miguel Batista. All are righthanders.Well then. We'll see what happens.

Welcome Home, Adam Kennedy
You know what else happens when you sit through a rain out and another game in late October? You get violently ill for a while. So, yeah.
Anyhoo, the Cards apparently just signed Kennedy to a three-year, $10 million deal. That's, uh, cheap. So it can't be right. Maybe $10M per? But maybe not. Also got Kip Wells and Bennett resigned. Eli Marerro's back on a minor league deal. No word on Wells' money.
