Speed Kills

What looks like an innocuous Spring Training fluff piece on Reyes and his quest for a low fast ball troubles me a tad. Especially this part:
"But he believes his right arm can still pack heat.

'Oh yeah, oh yeah,' Reyes said. 'I'm never going to give up on that.'"
Reyes is still a kid. I guess it's natural to love that 95 mph fastball. But he is going to have to give up on chasing velocity for velocity's sake, even if he's not asking, "How fast?" after every inning. Like what's-his-face on the Tigers last year - you fall so in love with lighting up the radar, you forget about things like, oh, location.

I just want him to pitch, not throw. Please, Anthony, listen to Duncan, unlike that new Cub.
